Providing Vital Support for Worship

Providing Vital Support for Worship

What does a Welcome Team member do?

  • We welcome visitors and congregants with grace and a smile, ready to assist the elderly, the physically-challenged and parents with toddlers.
  • We arrive 30-minutes prior to the service and ensure that the service bulletins and wine kits are available, and we post the hymnal numbers on the hymnal boards.
  • We ensure that readers, acolytes, and chalice teammates have arrived.
  • We  assist laypersons with communion, baptisms, and special events.
  • We take attendance and record that information in the appropriate journal.
  • We collect the monetary donations and secure those assets in the church safe.
  • We ensure that hymnals and prayer books are in place, ready for the next service.

What does it take to serve on a Welcome Team?

  • A desire to be an Ambassador of Christ: serving others with joy and treating everyone with courtesy, dignity and respect.
