Ascension has a number of groups that meet for social, outreach, spiritual or educational activities. Connecting with a group can make a big church feel intimate, and can provide you with an opportunity to make friends and support one another.
Read a book, study the Bible, ask honest questions with this intergenerational group, every Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.
Ascension’s Adventure Group

Ascension is blessed with a fine choir of over 20 singers, the Ascension Choir, an all-volunteer groups of adults. The Ascension Choir practises each Thursday evening during the program year (September through early June) from 7:45 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and sings at the 10:00 a.m. service.
Education for Ministry Classes
Ascension offers this enlightening four-year course in theology and the Bible on Tuesday evenings at 7:00 pm. But it’s more than a class, it builds a community through shared meals and prayer. Contact David Mitchell or Rebecca Smith-Kevern.
Living with Serious Illness
Meets the second Monday of each month for a brown bag lunch at 11:30 a.m. for discussion, fellowship and prayer among those living with cancer and those who love them. Contact Javier Ocampo at 301-948-0122, ext 12.
Meets every other Thursday evening working to develop projects that encourage the Parish to reflect on current and past inequalities and how we can live into our interconnectedness using our God-given talents to lift up every member of our human family. We acknowledge, respect and protect the inherent dignity of all peoples celebrating our differences as God intended.
